If you love the colour of our Hove Edge stone but want your paving project to have a more uniform finish, our riven paving is the natural choice. Each piece of unique premium quality York Stone slab rock is quarried and hand-finished by our own stonemasons who then machine cut the edges for a nice smooth look. Every piece is sourced directly from a quarry in Halifax, and the character of that areas stone means a small amount of veining is likely to occur throughout. It’s one of the things we and our customers love about Hove Edge, but if you want to make sure before you buy, feel free to order a small complimentary sample.

For an even better sense of Hove Edge Riven Paving we can send a full-sized slab for an additional cost, or you can make an appointment at our yard to see slabs side by side. New Riven Paving has a thickness between 35-65mm, so it can’t be butt jointed. We recommend a pointing gap of between 10-15mm. If you’re laying it in a high traffic area or somewhere with lots of trees or foliage, we also recommend using a natural stone sealant to protect against staining and give it a bit more grip in wet weather.

As all of our stone is a quarried natural material, variations may occur in mineral content and there may also be slight marks or veining on the stone.

You can request a free sample of this York Stone product so you can get a feel for the look and texture, and although we try our best to ensure the sample is as close to the product as possible, we are unable to guarantee an exact replication of the sample provided. Please wet your sample to get an idea of how the stone will look when wet.
